Why aren't health fitness clubs affected by the financial crisis?

Do all health fitness clubs deliberately refuse to close down business even during financial crisis because they want to force people to become fit & healthy? Is it so to prevent people from obesity, diabetes etc? Do health fitness clubs ignore the financial crisis and continue to operate to stop any health epidemics?

1. A lot of "health and fitness clubs" must remain open. They have sold contracts to its members and have agreed to certain things, like being open set times of the day, or offering members to come and go any time day or night. If they were to close, they would have to refund every ones money, and that would put them out of business.
